The SRS Clinical Mentorship Program
Swallowing Recovery Solutions is dedicated to advancing the field of speech-language pathology by training the next generation of highly skilled endoscopists. We bridge the gap between your basic didactic training and independent clinical competency, providing the hands-on experience you need to safely and confidently perform Mobile FEES.
Our mentorship approach is clinician-centered and highly collaborative.
We understand that transitioning from a classroom setting to passing a scope on live patients can be intimidating. We work with you one-on-one to build your confidence, refine your endoscope manipulation techniques, and master the interpretation of complex pharyngeal anatomy and pathophysiology. Whether you need your very first supervised scope pass or are looking to finalize your independent competency sign-off, we provide a supportive, low-stress environment tailored to your pacing.
Mentorship opportunities are actively available for SLPs currently licensed in Ohio and Michigan. We offer flexible scheduling to accommodate your current clinical caseload. Let's get that scope in your hands!
Comprehensive FEES Mentorship Curriculum
Our mentorship program bridges the gap between your foundational introductory course and independent clinical practice. We provide the hands-on supervised passes, rigorous infection control training, and business workflow insights you need to safely and confidently launch your FEES career.
Endoscope Manipulation & Safety
Master transnasal insertion techniques, scope manipulation, and patient positioning. Learn how to navigate complex anatomy, manage patient discomfort, and maintain a steady, continuous laryngeal view during feeding trials while prioritizing patient safety.
Infection Control & Reprocessing
Go beyond the basics with rigorous, hands-on training in High-Level Disinfection (HLD). We cover Spaulding Classification , point-of-use pre-cleaning , leak testing , and DOT-compliant transport protocols to ensure you keep your patients and equipment completely safe.
Interpretation & Diagnostics
Train your eye to accurately identify normal and abnormal laryngeal and pharyngeal anatomy. Learn to score airway invasion, evaluate secretion management, identify the pathophysiology of residue, and utilize the "Air Gap" technique for safe contrast dye administration.
Workflow & Competency Sign-Off
Understand the business of Mobile FEES. We cover Medicare Consolidated Billing (CPT 92612), report writing, facility onboarding, and exactly what Administrators and DORs need. Complete your required supervised passes to earn your final clinical competency sign-off.

Welcome!
I am Taylor, an experienced medical speech-language pathologist and the founder of Swallowing Recovery Solutions. Over the past 9 years, I have navigated the complexities of dysphagia management across hospitals, intensive care units, and long-term care facilities. I know firsthand the challenges that treating SLPs face when advocating for instrumental imaging, which is exactly why I transitioned into the Mobile FEES space.
As the clinical director of SRS, my passion is empowering my fellow clinicians. I pride myself on providing a supportive, low-stress mentorship environment. Whether you are looking to refine your endoscope handling, master complex anatomical interpretation, or learn the operational workflow of running your own mobile route, my goal is to give you the hands-on experience and confidence you need to elevate your clinical practice.

Your Pathway to FEES Competency

Apply & Connect
Fill out our brief Mentorship Intake Form so we can learn about your current licensure, basic training, and clinical goals. We will then schedule a quick introductory call to discuss logistics, pricing, and ensure our program is the perfect fit for your timeline.
2.
Hands-On Mentorship
We can join you or you can join us in the field for one-on-one, supervised clinical scope passes on live patients. We provide a low-stress environment with real-time feedback on your transnasal insertion techniques, endoscope manipulation, anatomical interpretation, and infection control protocols.
3.
Competency Sign-Off
Once you have successfully completed your required number of supervised passes and demonstrated safe, consistent endoscope handling and accurate diagnostics, you will receive your formal competency sign-off to confidently begin your independent practice!
Flexible Training Options
On-The-Road Clinicals
We join you or you can join us directly on my mobile FEES route across NW Ohio and SE Michigan. You will gain hands-on experience navigating real-world medical environments, performing supervised transnasal insertions on live patients, and executing point-of-use infection control protocols.
In-Office Equipment Lab
Meet me at our Oregon, OH headquarters for dedicated, low-pressure equipment training. Before you scope a live patient, you will master scope manipulation on anatomical models and perfect your High-Level Disinfection (HLD) reprocessing and leak-testing workflows.
Virtual Case Reviews
Not every training hour needs to be in the field! We utilize secure virtual meetings for deep-dives into anatomical interpretation, reviewing recorded FEES videos to hone your diagnostic eye, and mastering report writing and billing codes (CPT 92612).
Tuition & Corporate Sponsorships
Swallowing Recovery Solutions operates on a transparent, flat-rate pricing model for clinical mentorship. We accept independent SLPs paying out-of-pocket to advance their careers, and we proudly partner with SNF networks and Corporate Rehab Companies looking to sponsor and certify their in-house therapy staff.
